The Lord´s Battle-Axe Bob Jones & Paul Keith Davis The following is a portion of the visions and revelations given through the 1996 Shepherd’s Rod. These messages were preserved on tape but just now put in written form. The spiritual truth in it helps to highlight the issues that will enable us to attain our high calling and walk intimately with Him. That is indeed our prayer... THE BOOK OF ACTS There seemed to be an emphasis on the book of Acts this year depicting the anointed acts of the Lord’s church maturing, to prepare us for the things shortly to be released from heaven’s resources. You are My battle-ax and weapons of war: for with you I will break the nation in pieces; with you I will destroy kingdoms; With you I will break in pieces the horse and its rider; with you I will break in pieces the chariot and its rider; With you also I will break in pieces man and woman; with you I will break in pieces old and young; with you I will break in pieces the young man and the maiden; With you also I will break in pieces the shepherd and his flock; with you I will break in pieces the farmer and his yoke of oxen; and with you I will break in pieces governors and rulers. (Jeremiah 51:20-23) We are to be the Lord’s “battle-axe” and the weapons of His warfare. We are to be the instruments that He will use to accomplish His purposes in the earth. With our words the Lord will begin to prune the unfruitful trees and even lay the axe to the root of the religious tree exposing it for what it is. The “spirit of religion” will begin to be recognized more fluently as the counterfeit of the true anointing that should rightfully be embraced by the Lord’s people. Many of the counterfeit spirits operating in the church will become increasingly less effective and revealed as a thief. Truth from the book of Acts will be utilized to lay the axe to the root of the religious tree so the emerging, anointed tree of Life can become more clearly visible. The church is going to be forced to embrace the ministry of healing and deliverance because of the great pressures that will placed upon people. We must become the church depicted in the book of Acts--- the vast needs of lost and dieing humanity will dictate it. The miracles, signs and wonders wrought by the hands of the Apostles featured in the Book of Acts, will become essential for our spiritual, physical and emotional well-being. These things will begin to surface in a more pronounced way this year and will increase in the coming years. THOSE WHOM HE APPROVES The Lord will place this spiritual “Axe” in the hands of those whom He has approved and prepared for this purpose. These will be “commissioned ones” according to I Cor. 11:18-19. For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that divisions exist among you; and in part I believe it. For there must also be factions among you, so that those who are approved may become evident among you. The schisms and divisions in the body of Christ will exist until the true anointing draws the people together around the revealed Word of God and His Holy Spirit. The main issue developed for the Lord’s approval is His Love. He will approve those in whom He discovers His love. With love, we can be entrusted with the “axe” or spiritual weapons the Lord desires to release to begin the preparatory process for corporate commissioning. It will be the emergence of “Father’s” to whom great spiritual authority can be delegated. The purpose of this leadership is to equip the body for the work of the ministry. The “fathers” will emerge with Apostolic authority in due time to bring clear revelation of truth that will end controversies and factions that presently exist. The judges and counselors will arise from this process and be appointed by the Holy Spirit to convey divine counsel from the seven-fold Spirit of God. The unprecedented events imminently facing the earth dictate divine counsel in our preparation. SETTING APART FOR MINISTRY During this year’s Shepherd’s Rod or Atonement season, many believers are being marked for separation as Paul and Barnabas, to be prepared for this work of the ministry. While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. (Acts 13:2-3) Those being separated for these purposes are primarily distinguished by their love for the Lord and His people. The foundation ministries of the Apostles and Prophets will shortly arise and begin to discern and expose the false prophetic spirits that exist in the church in the order of “Bar jesus”. When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they found a magician, a Jewish false prophet whose name was Bar-Jesus, who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. But Elymas the magician (for so his name is translated) was opposing them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. (Acts 13:6-8) This false anointing weakens the body of Christ producing division and disunity and distracts many from embracing the Spirit of Truth that is being released. The Sons of Zion will engage the sons of Greece who have received their revelations through sorcery and divination. The scriptures describe this as a “wizard” or sorcery spirit that the Holy Spirit will begin to identify and deal with through His anointed leadership. For I will bend Judah as My bow, I will fill the bow with Ephraim. And I will stir up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece; and I will make you like a warrior's sword. Then the LORD will appear over them, and His arrow will go forth like lightning; and the Lord GOD will blow the trumpet, and will march in the storm winds of the south. (Zech 9:13-14) This enemy of the cross gave himself the name Elymas as a self-proclaimed man of wisdom. Self-imposed titles and spiritual distinctions that are not assigned by the Holy Spirit have served as a distraction in the church creating weakness and disillusionment. This is actually a form of false anointing mingling natural knowledge with spiritual perception masquerading as divinely inspired insight to give credibility to their prophetic ministry. In reality, this brings a reproach on the true prophetic ministry greatly needed in the church. The prophet Joel foretells the end-time generation being distinguished with the spirit of revelation. Nonetheless, the enemy is desiring to release this false prophetic “wizard” spirit as a detriment to the true. In many cases those anointed with this false spirit are more articulate and intellectual in their presentation of their gospel and will deceive many if not confronted by the true anointing. (Acts 13:9-10) The confrontation between Paul and Elymas resulted in the conversion of the proconsul and the establishment of truth. Bringing into His light this fashion of spiritual darkness will result in a form of blindness that renders this spirit powerless. Light will always overcome darkness. This spiritual confrontation will begin this year and the years to follow and become more pronounced in the coming seasons.
